Zareda Shufflebarger Earnest, founder of the Bland County Historical Society, passes away on January 19, 2014.
The Bland County Historical Society is saddened to learn of the passing of the founder of the Bland County Historical Society. Zareda Earnest was instrumental in organizing the society in the late 1980s with a group that met at Kegley Manor in Bastian. We salute her vision in preserving the history of our county and feel sure she would be very proud of our historical collection and our efforts to further her vision for the organization. We will be producing a Tribute to Zareda Earnest to coincide with the celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
