2012 CALENDAR	"The 2012 Bland County Historical Society Calendar, designed by Ann Hardy Beardshall, is a compilation of articles from the 1962 issues of the BLAND MESSENGER and contains memorable moments from 50 years ago. Included are photos of Wythe and Bland bear hunters, automobile ads for the 1962 Chevy and Ford cars, 1962 Bland Rockets Basketball State Championship Team, Bland County Teacher's Assoc honorees, Miss Bland County Martha Hall, various graduation photos, Jack King getting "shot" as he becomes a member of the Army Reserves, dedication of the new Mechanicsburg Christian Church, advertisement for the 1962 Bland County Fair, a "Farmer" letter to Orvelle Freeman in the Dept of Agriculture, Lake DeWitt Morehead on his retirement from the Bland County School Board, and 2 pages of 1962 Christmas ads.
